Principal of best-performing learner in North West extremely proud


Temogo Matong from Setswakgosing Secondary School, in Morokweng, is the best-performing learner in the North West province.

He obtained seven distinctions with an average of 96%.

The province’s Matric Class of 2025 attained an 88. 49% matric pass rate, coming in 4th position nationally.

Matong’s principal Olaotse Moreke says they are extremely proud of him, and that he represented their school and the village of Morokweng well.

“He has been achieving like this since grade 10 and he was performing just like that. It shows that cooperation with educators is the key. The community of in Morokweng is blessed to have a learner like Temogo Matong, and other learners will also learn from Matong that even from a rural area, there could come a learner who shines, they could become a star.”
