Prince Toni Mphephu denies involvement in VBS Bank looting

1 minute

Former Vhavenda king, Prince Toni Mphephu Ramabulana says he had nothing to do with the looting at the now defunct VBS Mutual Bank. He was responding to an affidavit read before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court by advocate Allan Dodson.

Dodson is representing Princess Masindi Mphephu in the dispute over the Vhavenda traditional leadership. The court case has been adjourned to a date still to be confirmed.

The affidavit states that Prince Mphephu Ramabulana is a dishonest person who used his former position as king to loot the bank. But Ramabulana says he is not aware of any investigation against him in connection with the looting at VBS.

“I don’t remember NPA writing letters to me informing me of something that is happening, but all I know is that all those who transgress in the VBS saga are appearing in court,” says Ramabulana.
