Presidency committee to await ConCourt ruling on Phala-Phala

The Chairperson of the newly established oversight committee in the Presidency, Dorris Mpapane, says they will take a decision on the outcomes of the Constitutional Court judgment on the Phala-Phala case after it is delivered.

The Court has confirmed that its decision on the Phala Phala scandal will be delivered within a month.

Mpapane briefed the media on the committee’s outcomes of its two day strategic planning workshop in Gauteng.

She says the committee wants to allow the judiciary process on the matter to take its course before they can make an informed decision.

“All I can say is that matter of the Section 89 is with the relevant institutions and we must allow those institutions to do their work. We will be able to respond to that question once the judgment has been passed but for now I don’t have a direct response to this question. Thank you.”
