Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu, MEC S.J Manzini, and other members of the Executive Council and leaders visited healthcare facilities to greet parents with their newborns.
Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu says he will engage with the MEC for Health to address the issue of dispensary operations in some of the hospitals and clinics in the province.
Ndlovu made unannounced visits to hospitals in the Bushbuckridge local municipality.
He says dispensaries in some of the provincial health facilities are not fully operational on weekends and holidays.
“I had an unannounced visit to hospitals in Bushbuckridge municipality – Mapulaneng and Tintswalo. I was satisfied about the state of the two hospitals. I interacted with patients, there were no long queues, nurses were helping people. The waiting period was reasonable and none of them even knew who I was. Our dispensaries at the hospitals are not fully operational on weekends and holidays, we will engage with the MEC for Health, will always have similar unannounced visits to various public facilities across the province as this will help government to improve service deliveries across the province.”
