The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says the power supply should be restored by Thursday this week.
This, after the collapse of two electricity towers last week due to gale-force winds.
The electricity outage has mostly affected the Western suburbs, also causing a water outage that has also affected small businesses and schooling in the areas.
Nelson Mandela Metro Executive Mayor Babalwa Lobishe says they are committed to fixing the outage.
“We are on Day 4 of the 10 days that we have committed to fix the outage. We are coming here impressed with the work that has been done; all six monopoles are up, replacing the towers that have fallen. Now, it’s a matter of installation of the line there, so that testing of the installation of the line. So, testing can happen and energy can be restored.”
