Pollard back in Boks’ squad as 11 changes made

2023 Rugby World Cup hero, Handre Pollard will play in his first test match in nearly three months when the Springboks take on Italy in Turin on Saturday.

The inclusion of the flyhalf, who has sitting in the stands watching Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Manie Libbok pulling the strings in the number 10 jersey, is one of 11 changes to the starting fifteen that beat France in Paris last weekend.

Morne van den Berg will be his halfback partner, while Ethan Hooker and Canan Moodie will be the center pairing.

The only players who retained their places in the run-on team are prop Boan Venter, captain Siya Kolisi, wing Kurt-Lee Arendse and fullback Damian Willemse.

The Springboks have won 17 of the 18 tests they’ve played against Italy but will be wary of the Azzurri who beat Australia last weekend.
