Police warn against deadly driving behaviour on N1


Gauteng Traffic Police are warning motorists travelling on the N1 southbound not to drive against traffic. Authorities say some drivers are using the northbound lane to travel south, which is a dangerous and illegal practice. Officials warn this could lead to head-on collisions and fatalities.

 

Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson, Sello Maremane has urged motorists to follow the rules of the road.

“Utilising the northbound lane while travelling south may cause head-on-collisions , which can result in fatalities. We are currently engaging with Limpopo traffic police to counteract such dangerous behavior.”
