Khayelitsha SAPS Crime Prevention Unit members arrested a 46-year-old woman and confiscated mandrax tablets worth R1 million at Site B, Khayelitsha on 04 April 2025.
A 46-year-old woman has been arrested after police seized Mandrax worth R1 million in Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says officers were conducting stop and search operations in the area following information about a premises allegedly used as a liquor storage facility. He says they spotted the suspect carrying a green bag.
“The members immediately operationalised the information and on arrival they saw a lady on the premises carrying a big green bag and found 10 big packets with mandrax tablets and four small clear packets also with mandrax tablets. When counted in each of the 10 packets, 1000 units of mandrax tablets were found, and inside the four small packets, 100 mandrax tablets were found. The suspect will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates on Monday for possession of drugs,” van Wyk says.
