Gauteng police say they are only aware of one person arrested for the murder of 14-year-old Likhona Fose.

This follows claims by Johannesburg Community Safety MMC Dr. Mgcini Tshwaku last night that a Pakistani spaza shop owner has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder.

Tshwaku said the first suspect to be arrested, Mduduzi Mnisi claims he was instructed by the shop owner to carry out the crime.

Mnisi appeared briefly in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court yesterday and his case has been postponed to Wednesday next week for bail application.

Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni, “This assertion that there is an additional suspect unless, if this particular individual is kept somewhere else. This person whom we have arrested, he appeared in court the day before yesterday. At this stage only one suspect has been arrested who is in custody and the case is remanded.”
