Police probe fatal light airplane crash in Free State


The police in the Free State say they are investigating the cause of the light airplane crash which occured in the south of Bloemfontein.

The crash claimed the life of the pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft.

Station Commander at Parkweg Police Station says they are also investigating a case of culpable homicide.

Brigadier Teboho Jacobs says the pilot suffered fatal injuries during the crash.

“We got the complaint around 10:15 of the plane which crashed around the Ferreira area, and yes, we went to the scene, and we can confirm that upon further investigations that there was only one passenger, who is a pilot. He was declared dead on the scene after everybody attended the scene,” says Jacobs.
