Madlanga Commission proceedings
Former Western Cape Police Commissioner Dr. Lennit Max is confident that senior SAPS officials implicated in corruption, as revealed at the Madlanga Commission, will be fired within six months.
A task team has been established to implement the commission’s recommendations to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The commission’s interim report referred five senior SAPS officials for investigation, including KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Lesetja Senona.
Senona appeared before the Madlanga Commission on Thursday.

Max says this will help restore public trust in law enforcement.
“These are employees directly in the criminal justice system who are responsible to ensure the safety of the residents of South Africa and to ensure the legitimacy of the criminal justice system. The public trust in the police is at the all-time low of 22%. I can guarantee you most of these police generals and brigadiers and the sergeant on the list, within six months, won’t be with the police.”
