A court gavel, handcuffs and law books.
A police officer attached to the Klerksdorp Detective Branch in the North West (NW) will appear in court again next week after he was positively linked with a hijacking in the town a month ago.
The police sergeant and his two co-accused were remanded in custody.
Provincial Police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh says a couple were seated in their vehicle when a vehicle with three men inside stopped nearby.
“The suspects allegedly introduced themselves as police officers. The victim got suspicious and tried to flee from the scene, however, a shot was fired, damaging his rear tyre. The victims exited the vehicle and ran off to a nearby house, whilst the suspects drove off with the Ranger. The vehicle was later recovered after colliding with another vehicle.”
