Western Cape police have arrested four suspected extortionists in Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats.
Provincial police spokesperson Wesley Twigg says officers made the arrests after receiving information on a vehicle with four occupants allegedly involved in extortion-related crimes in the area.
Twigg says the officers searched the vehicle and found an undisclosed amount of cash which the suspects could not account for.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court after being charged.
