Police in Cape Town are probing a shooting incident that claimed the lives of three young people and injured one person in Samora Machel on the Cape Flats.
Police spokesperson Andre Traut says the victims were seated in a vehicle when unknown suspects opened fire at them.
He says the victims, aged between 16 and 21, were declared dead on the scene.
Traut says the wounded 19-year-old was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
He says the suspects fled the scene.
“Serious and Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating the incident, following up on all leads to determine the motive and identify the suspects. Police deployments in the area have been reinforced, and SAPS remains committed to restoring stability and bringing those responsible to justice.”
