Police investigate murder after Chubby Chick shooting


Police in the North West have confirmed that a case of murder and attempted murder is being investigation following a shooting incident at the offices of poultry giant, Chubby Chick, in Potchefstroom, this morning.

Provincial Police Spokesperson Adele Myburgh says a group of workers had a scheduled meeting with management.

A 73-year-old worker allegedly produced a firearm and fired shots at two men believed to be the owners of the company.

One of them died on the scene, while the other is in a critical condition in hospital.

Myburgh says security staff at the premises heard the shots and shot the suspect.

He is currently under police guard in a local hospital.
