Police, INTERPOL still searching for missing businessman Boshoga


The whereabouts of kidnapped Pretoria entrepreneur and farmer, Jerry Boshoga remain unknown, nearly a year after his abduction following a business meeting, in Centurion. His kidnappers initially demanded R60m,  later reducing it to R10m.

Boshoga’s name has resurfaced at the Madlanga Commission, probing criminal syndicates allegedly infiltrating the justice system.

His family has pinpointed tender tycoon, Vusimuzi Cat Matlala, as the main suspect. Police say they’re working with INTERPOL on cross-border investigations, but Suspended Deputy National Commissioner, Shadrack Sibiya admitted before Parliament, this week that he’s unsure whether Boshoga is still alive.

“I’m told Jerry Boshoga was a businessman who was kidnapped. I am not sure if he is still alive; nobody can say.  It’s been quite sometime there hasn’t been any communication,” says Sibiya.

He says the team is still searching for information and he hasn’t been traced. I’ve got the report here,” he adds.
