A large police contingent has been deployed to the Addington Primary School in Durban.
This as various organisations continue their protest, calling on the school’s management to make South African learners a priority over foreign nationals.
Supporters of the lobby group March and March, as well as the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, allege 60 South African learners, including 40 from families displaced in the 2022 floods, have applied for enrolment but have not been placed.
Operation Dudula is also expected to join the protest.

The civic organisations are saying this cannot be the case that South Africans are not being prioritised.
They’re saying that many of the schools in Durban need to go back to the drawing board and implement a resolution that will assist South Africans.
They are saying that of the children at the school, 90% of the learners at Addington Primary School are foreign nationals.
