Alcohol is seen during a police clampdown and the closure of three illegal shebeens in Bloemspruit in the Free State on 06 December 2024.
Police in the Free State in Bloemspriut in Bloemfontein clamped down on three illegal shebeens yesterday.
In a statement, the SAPS says the closures followed a series of complaints and concerns raised by the local community about the negative impact these unlicensed establishments had on the area.
Police also confiscated 270 030 ml of alcohol at the illegal shebeens.

Meanwhile in Cape Town, residents to remain vigilant of suspicious activities after the uncovering of an illegal distillery at Du Noon in Cape Town.
Law enforcement officers acted on a tip-off on the illegal liquor manufacturing at an abandoned building.
Officers discovered over 150 litres of distilled alcohol, along with counterfeit bottles of popular brands.
Member of the Mayoral Committee on Safety and Security, JP Smith, says the city will work with law enforcement to clamp down on illegal activities.
