Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi says they will go an extra mile to ensure that the province is geared up to host the G20 summit.
Delegates from different member states are expected in Johannesburg and Tshwane in November to participate in the Summit.
Speaking at a media briefing in Midrand, north of Johannesburg, Lesufi said they will beef up security measures and improve roads and infrastructure in and around the venues where the summit will be held.
“When we say the extra mile is to make Gauteng to be safe and ready to host. Remember, this is (an international) event, we are just a host. Our roads and signage must be in top shape. We are putting CCTV cameras in strategic areas. We wanted to put 16 cameras. We are at 8 now,” says Lesufi.
