The City of Tshwane has issued a notice of possible water supply interruptions in all extensions in Mamelodi and Nellmapius in Pretoria this weekend.
It says this is to allow Rand Water to replace the existing water meter to ensure improved efficiency and reliability of the water supply network.
The city says the maintenance work will start on Sunday at 18:00 and teams are expected to finish at 08:00 on Monday morning.
The city says other areas may be affected by the outages as well.
Residents have been cautioned to use water sparingly, not to water gardens, wash their cars or clean driveways or pavements using hose pipes and not to fill their swimming pools.
