Pilots and SAA are continuing negotiations on outstanding issues

1 minute

The South African Airways Pilots Association, the National Transport Movement and SAA management are continuing negotiations on outstanding issues.

The parties are reported to have agreed on a 9.47% wage settlement this morning.

The association and the movement have since suspended their strike.

Pilots will return to work while negotiations for improved working conditions continue.

Aviation Expert Guy Leitch says it was the first time in history that the SAA strike disrupted the functioning of airlines.
