Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos addresses media briefing after friendly match with Mozambique at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo on June 10, 2025.
Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos says choosing a 23-player squad for World Cup qualifiers in September will be difficult.
He was speaking after the national soccer team’s 2-0 win over Mozambique in a friendly encounter played at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo, on Tuesday night.
The victory comes after Bafana played a goalless draw against Tanzania last Friday.
Broos says he has a large pool of players to choose from.
He says, “Everything is positive. That is something that will make my job very difficult in the next months. We have 23 players there. You know that there are also other 23, who are still with the club and are at home, which means that you can choose now between 40 players of which will be difficult because I will have to drop players in September. Maybe those who deserve it, but I have to make choices.”
