The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced an increase in the price of fuel with effect from Wednesday, 1 April.
Both grades of petrol will go up by R3,06 per litre, while both grades of diesel will shoot up by between R7,37 and R7,51 per litre.
Illuminating paraffin sees the highest increase on record of R11,67 per litre.
The latest adjustments to the fuel price come after government stepped in to cut the general fuel levy by R3 a litre for a one-month period ending on the 5th of May.
This is expected to cost the fiscus around R6 billion in lost revenue.
