Partner found guilty of murdering celebrity ‘Pastry Chef’ Letlape


The man accused of the 2024 murder of celebrity pastry chef Thembekile Letlape has been found guilty in the Johannesburg High Court.

Sibusiso Zitha pleaded guilty to killing his partner, affectionately known as ‘The Pastry Chef’, by stabbing her multiple times during an argument in front of their then 10-year-old daughter at their apartment in Fourways, Johannesburg.

National Prosecuting Authority Gauteng spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane says the case has been postponed to August 28 for a pre-sentence report.

“We welcome the plea of guilty as it signals the willingness by the accused to take full responsibility for his actions. We are confident as the NPA that the court after hearing after hearing arguments from both the State and the Defence, will be in a position to impose a just sentence.”
