A parent of a child living with a disability has decried a lack of government schools for learners with special needs in the country.
November is National Disability Rights Awareness Month and organisations caring for people living with disabilities say more awareness is needed as they continue to face stigma.
A parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy, Eulene Reid says, “The challenge comes in when special needs parents have to find government schools for their children. In Johannesburg for example, there’s only one choice for parents to choose from for their children.”
