Proteas’ batsmen
The South African cricket team’s defence of its ICC World Test Championship title started in disappointing fashion.
Pakistan have beaten the Proteas by 93 runs in the first test in Lahore.
The Proteas, who needed 277 runs for victory in their second innings, were bowled out for just 183 to hand the hosts 1-nil lead in the two-test series.
Dewald Brewis top scored for the South Africa with a run a ball 54, while Ryan Rickelton chipped in with 45.
The rest of the line-up failed to deliver, bowing under the pressure of left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and left-arm spinner Noman Ali.
