PAC Secretary General Apa Pooe says, “The PAC calls upon all freedom-loving people to join us as we remember this historic day and recommit ourselves to the fight for economic justice, land restoration, and the complete emancipation.”

Meanwhile, the Congress of Traditional Leaders (Contralesa) says people of this country can not fully celebrate Human Rights Day due to the many challenges they face.

Contralesa President Kgosi Mathupa Mokoena says they will submit a formal proposal to rename Human Rights Day, Sharpville Day.

“Contralesa wishes all South Africans a peaceful Human Rights Day, unfortunately, our people can not fully celebrate this day because of amongst other things the crime that has gone out of control, some of our learners are still using pit latrines even now. Services are not delivered as they are supposed to. South Africans can only celebrate Human Rights Day if these challenges are addressed.”
