Patriotic Alliance suspends Deputy Kenny Kunene for one month, pending investigation:

In a video clip on social media, party president Gayton McKenzie announced that the party’s number two and City of Johannesburg MMC, Kenny Kunene will stand down from his duties for a month.

When questioned about his presence during Molefe’s arrest, Kunene says there is nothing untoward about his visit. He claims he was accompanying a young journalist for a possible interview for his publication.

He argues that he has no relationship with Molefe and his visit was innocent and not personal.

Molefe is accused of orchestrating the murder of the late musician, DJ Sumbody, who was brutally killed in a drive-by shooting in 2022.

Political analyst, Dr Levy Ndou, says in recent years South Africans’ trust in political parties has been dwindling. Amongst the reasons are perceptions of corruption.
