The South African Police Service (SAPS) has arrested the owner of the vehicle that was allegedly used in the murder and kidnapping of 30-year-old Olorato Mongale.

This comes after they found and seized the suspects’ VW Polo, which contained traces of blood inside at a panel beater workshop in Phoenix, Durban yesterday.

Mongale’s body was discovered in Lombardy, north of Johannesburg, last Sunday, about two hours after she was reported missing.

In a statement, the SAPS says an elderly man believed to be the owner of the vehicle has been arrested, but police are still searching for two men believed to have been directly involved in her murder.

Police say the two suspects are on the run and members of the public are urged to distribute their photos far and wide to assist police investigations.
