O’Sullivan doesn’t agree with AfriForum’s genocide claims in SA

Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee in Cape Town has adjourned after private investigator Paul O’Sullivan said he was in severe pain from a back injury.

He has been testifying for two days. The committee will continue with the remaining questions from members at a future date.

Earlier, O’Sullivan told the committee he did not agree with AfriForum’s claims of a genocide in South Africa.

O’Sullivan confirmed he had been a member of the lobby group since 2016.

The committee is probing alleged corruption, criminal infiltration and political interference within the justice system.  EFF MP, Leigh-Ann Mathys questioned O’Sullivan on alleged genocide in the country.

Mathys: Let’s talk about AfriForum. When did you become a member of AfriForum?

O’Sullivan: In 2016.

Mathys: Do they fund you?

O’Sullivan: No.

Mathys: So, and then beyond you paying your membership fee?

O’Sullivan: I pay R120 a month.

Mathys: Do you align with AfriForum’s claims that there’s genocide here in South Africa?

O’Sullivan: No.

Mathys: But you’re still a member and you pay R120 every month to them.

O’Sullivan: Yeah, so, I pay my taxes too, but I don’t align with everything that goes on in South Africa.
