Orlando Pirates, who finished second in the Betway Premiership and reached the semifinals of the CAF Champions League last season, have finally appointed a new coach.
Moroccan Abdeslam Ouaddou, who coached Marumo Gallants last season, will take over from Jose Riveiro, who had a very successful stint with Bucs.
The appointment of the 46-year-old former Moroccan professional footballer may come as a surprise. But Ouaddou is a UEFA Pro Licence holder and during his brief tenure at Gallants, he coached the team to five wins, four draws, and just three defeats in 12 matches.
One of those victories was a 2-0 win against Bucs at the Free State Stadium in March.
