Operation Dudula vows to continue protests on last day of G20 Summit

Operation Dudula is adamant that it will continue to protest outside the G20 Leaders’ Summit venue at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on Sunday.

The organisation, together with the Mkhonto weSizwe Party, say they are trying to grab the attention of international delegates to address South Africa’s challenges, including the influx of undocumented immigrants, crime and unemployment.

On Saturday, two Operation Dudula members were arrested following violent clashes with police after an attempt to march closer to the summit venue.

“Ours is to raise awareness against the plight of South Africans, as South Africans are under siege. Why I’m saying this is we are leaderless, we don’t have leaders in South Africa. Like South Africa is a dumping site where you want to create crime and do all ills, you must come to South Africa,” says Operation Dudula’s Sphiwe Shabangu.
