Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Kenny Morolong visited missing journalist, Aserie Ndlovu ‘s family in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.
One suspect linked to the disappearance of journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, is expected to appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court in north-eastern Pretoria this morning.
This follows the arrest of four suspects in the case yesterday.
Three of the suspects are expected to appear in the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga later this week.
The suspects were found in possession of various parts believed to belong to Ndlovu’s car.
Deputy Minister in the Presidency Kenny Morolong says police will in due course make pronouncements on the strides made in this case.
Morolong, who visited the family, says, “The sense we have received from the police is that there has been significant progress regarding the investigation. We would know that as a joint investigation between Gauteng and Mpumalanga to crack this case and we encouraged by the fact that the investigations seem to be yielding some bit of progress.”
He adds, “We came to this family, our mother here welcomed us warmly. We were well received and she has indicated that she continues to receive support from the National Press Council as we know Sibusiso was an esteemed member. We also continue to provide support in all ways possible as government because we are we support media freedom.”
