Fatal Crash on the M7 Durban Bound before Bellville
One person has been killed and another injured in a crash involving two trucks before the Belville off-ramp on the M7 in Durban.
It’s believed one of the trucks crashed into the rear of another truck which had broken down on the highway.
An occupant in the back of one of the trucks was declared dead at the scene, while a truck driver was injured.
The M7 was closed to traffic for some time while emergency workers worked to clear the scene.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson advises motorists to avoid the M7 bound as it has been closed.
“On the M7 Durban bound before the Belville road at Malvern area, west of Durban, at this stage I can confirm one person has suffered fatal injuries and has been declared deceased on the scene by paramedics and multiple others are being attended to. There have been some secondary injuries collisions as well and motorists are advised to avoid the entire M7 bound as it has been closed at the moment. Closures, I don’t know how long is going to take for emergency personnel to clean up the scene but due to the fatality, I would recommend people avoid using this area at all costs.”
