One lane of the N3 at Van Reenen’s Pass reopened after truck crash

One lane of the N3 at the foot of Van Reenen’s Pass has now been opened to traffic after a crash involving two trucks. All lanes had to be closed after the two vehicles caught alight following the crash at the foot of the pass in KwaZulu-Natal.

One person died in the crash.

KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate spokesperson Sindi Msimanga says the fires have been put out but the recovery process is still underway.

“It has been reported that one truck driver lost his life due to this accident, and all emergency services are on the scene and working tirelessly to ensure that the road is open as soon as possible.”
