Truck on its side after the Salt Rock accident
One person has died following a crash between a truck and a light motor vehicle on the N2 at Salt Rock, north of Durban.
IPSS Medical Rescue says following the crash, the truck that was travelling south, lost control, crossing the center median and blocking the N2 northbound.
The driver of the light motor vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
IPSS Medical Rescue further confirms that while emergency services were working at the scene, a secondary collision occurred when a light motor vehicle struck a tow truck. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained.
Meanwhile, A pedestrian has been injured in a multi-vehicle crash in the Ballito CBD in northern Durban.
IPSS Medical Rescue says a truck, a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided.
Paramedics and officials from the KwaDukuza Fire Department pulled out the taxi driver from the wreckage.
Five other people were injured, two of them seriously.
