One person has been killed and another seriously injured following a shooting incident on Argyle Road in Durban. It is alleged that the two people were shot at while inside their vehicle.
ALS paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says, “Paramedics arrived on scene to find chaos and carnage as they found that a vehicle had been shot at numerous times, leaving both the driver and passenger with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics assessed the two men, believed to be in their thirties and forties; however, one of them, the passenger, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and there was nothing paramedics could do for him. He was declared deceased at the scene. The driver had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and he was in a critical condition.”
Meanwhile, three people, including a ten-year-old, have been shot and killed at their home in the Esikhaleni area near Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.
Provincial police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says another person was wounded in the attack, which happened on Tuesday.
“Reports indicate that a man entered a homestead and demanded to see a particular person. The person he wanted to see was not at home, but the suspect drew a firearm and shot and killed a 68-year-old man. The suspect entered the house where he shot and killed a 63-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy. The fourth victim survived the shooting with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the nearby hospital. The motive of the killing is unknown at this stage and police are searching for the suspect.”
