Kamogelo Motaung, a St Mary’s Secondary School
Kamogelo Motaung, a St Mary’s Secondary School learner from Mahikeng in the North West, who was partially blind while writing his matric has passed his National Senior Certificate with a Bachelor’s pass.
This remarkable turnaround was made possible by the kindness of strangers.
Earlier in his matric year, the SABC reported about his deteriorating eyesight, because of cataracts.
Unable to see clearly in class and without the means for specialised medical care, his chances of completing school appeared slim.
His eyes have since been operated on and now Motaung can celebrate his good results.
He says that he is proud of himself and he will now chase his dream of being an advocate.
“My results are awesome, Bachelor pass is not easy to get. This showed me that I have more potential and I can even do more, so I’m pretty sure that I’m going to succeed in everything that I put my hard work and in my mind in it. I want to be an advocate so I’m going to chase that dream.”
