The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Thamsanqa Ntuli, says they suspect that there may be more bodies as there is still no confirmation on how many people were at the site when the Redcliffe temple collapsed on Friday. The premier is currently at the site as recovery operations continue. Earlier, rescue teams had informed the premier that the recovery efforts might take longer than anticipated.
“They’ve just informed me that they’re still on the second layer from the top. It means they still have the first and the 2nd, that they’re still going to go through and they don’t know whether there are people there or whether there are no people there and we suspect that there may be more bodies as they also have the same view.”
