Ntanzi claims he does not know three co-accused in Meyiwa murder case

Accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi, insists he does not know three of his co-accused in the Senzo Meyiwa trial.  

Ntanzi is on the stand at the High Court in Pretoria, where he is appearing alongside four other accused of the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain. 

Ntanzi has also refuted claims by state key witness Constable Sizwe Zungu that he was with all the accused at Basotho Hostel in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni on the day of the contract killing.  

Responding to defence counsel, Zandile Mshololo, Ntanzi says he first met accused 5 Fisokuhle Ntuli when they made their first appearance in court. 

Ntanzi: The time I saw Ntuli was in Boksburg when we appeared there for the first time for this matter.  

Mshololo: Constable Zungu further testified that you went inside the room, also joined in that room, wherein there was exchange of firearms in your presence, and in the presence of accused number five.  

Ntanzi: That’s not true, my lord. I never met accused number five, I also did not meet Zungu. I saw Zungu for the first time when he entered, here, in court.
