Ntanzi accuses prosecutor of misleading the court during Meyiwa trial

The second accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial at the High Court in Pretoria, Bongani Ntanzi, has accused the state of relying on insufficient evidence.

This follows Ntanzi’s denial of being the author of a statement submitted as part of his bail application.

He claims he was assaulted on three separate occasions and not just once as put to him by Baloyi.

Ntanzi testified that police allegedly took him to a dumping site, assaulted him, and forced him to sign a prepared statement.

He also accused Advocate Baloyi of misleading the court during cross-examination.

“I don’t understand what the prosecutor is putting before court when he says I was assaulted when the car was in motion. That is why I mentioned that you are misleading the court.”
