The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) has issued an appeal for information regarding an unidentified woman who went missing in the surf at Sunrise Beach, near Muizenberg in Cape Town.
According to NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon, witnesses reported seeing the woman, who was wearing a yellow T-shirt, struggling in the water before she disappeared.
“NSRI Strandfontein rescue swimmers entered the water and conducted free dive search efforts in attempts to locate the female while the 4 rescue craft conducted search efforts in the surf zone and beyond,” Lambinon said.
Despite extensive search efforts, no trace of the woman has been found, and no family or friends have come forward to report anyone missing.
The NSRI is asking the public to come forward with any information that might assist in identifying the woman.
