The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), together with the police and Eastern Cape Emergency services are continuing the search for a 13-year-old teenager who went missing in the surf zone at Hole-in-the-Wall in the Eastern Cape, on Tuesday.
This followed reports of a drowning on Tuesday morning and despite extensive search operations, the teenager has not been found.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says a police helicopter has also joined the search.
“The SA Police Services responded and the NSRI Mdumbi rescue craft JetRIB was launched. On arrival on the scene a search commenced for a 13-year-old male teenager, from Mthatha, who had gone missing in the surf zone. Despite the extensive sea and shoreline search there remained no sign of the teenager. Thoughts and care are with the family and friends of the missing teenager in this difficult time.”
