North-West Finance MEC Kenetswe Mosenogi has re-tabled the provincial budget after Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana re-tabled the country’s budget last week.
Mosenogi says the province’s Agricultural Support Programme has received a slight increase.
”The Conditional Grants allocation amounts to R9.618 billion in 2025/26 financial year and R9.182 billion in the outer year of the MTEF.
The changes in the Conditional Grant allocation are attributed to correction in relation to the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) grant.
The net effect of the changes to the Conditional Grants allocations after the correction of the CASP allocations increased from R751.764 million to R809.766 million”.
Meanwhile, Wolfgang Wallhorn of the DA, Justice Dabampe of the EFF and Michal Groenewald of the FF-Plus, say the department failed to unpack a funding plan for service provision.
“We still looking at only temporary jobs, no permanent jobs.
The province is suffering with roads the infrastructure is not properly addressed.
Her budget doesn’t resolve all the issues that the ANC has created in the North West Province.
The re-tabling is no different than the first, the budget the 2025 fiscal year. It’s again only the total budget for salaries”.
