No water for Joburg CBD residents, surrounding areas this weekend

Residents of Johannesburg CBD and surrounding areas will have no water this weekend. This is due to Johannesburg Water’s 72-hour planned water shutdown.

This follows the water utility’s upgrading project which began yesterday evening.

Johannesburg Water has reminded residents about the water shutdown this weekend that will affect certain areas, including the CBD, Newtown, Selby, Jeppestown, Doornfontein, Forest Hill Turffontein, Rosettenville, La Rochelle and Turfontein Club.

The water utility says, the shutdown is part of their ongoing upgrading project, and it will be installing four new isolating valves at the Hector Norris pump station.
