Nkabinde returns to Ad Hoc Committee with supplementary statements

Chief of Staff in the Police Ministry Cedrick Nkabinde says he has submitted supplementary statements to the Ad Hoc Committee looking into concerns of national security.

Nkabinde is back before the committee after he was sent packing last week.

He had admitted that he thumb-sucked some of his testimony relating to Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and North West businessman Brown Mogotsi.

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) MP Leigh‐Ann Mathys is seeking clarity between the main affidavit and the supplementary statement by Nkabinde.

“We have the supplementary statement of the witness, and we need clarity from the evidence leader on why we have accepted the supplementary statement, and whether it is legal sound and whether it is legal procedural. Because the initial statements from the main statements last week because we have sent the witness home last week because we could not process or could not continue rather with his statements. And when you actual read the statements, the witness is real, indicating that he produced the statements under but not duress, but it was last-minute,” adds Mathys.
