Newzroom Afrika has placed anchor Aldrin Sampear on break from his broadcast duties with immediate effect.
This after he was involved in a road rage incident in Randburg, north of Johannesburg, last Thursday.
In a video clip that went viral on social media, a woman is heard saying, “Why are you hitting me?”
Sampear is accused of assaulting a woman following a crash and a case of assault has reportedly been opened with the police against him.
Newzroom Afrika says it’s aware of the incident involving the anchor.
The channel says Sampear will take a break from TV screens with immediate effect, pending an internal review of the matter.
The 24-hour news channel says it takes the allegations very seriously and will work swiftly to address the concerns raised.
