New witness expected at Madlanga Commission on Thursday

The Madlanga Commission will continue Thursday morning following an adjournment on Tuesday.

This after the testimony of Witness X concluded earlier than expected on Tuesday.

The Madlanga Commission, which was established in July, is looking into corruption and political interference in law enforcement agencies.

Proceedings at the Commission got off to a challenging start when Witness X, who was testifying remotely through an intermediary, encountered a technical glitch.

The technical challenge, according to chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga had the potential of compromising his life.

However, evidence leader Adv Adila Hassim continued with the testimony of Witness X by reading it into the record.

A new witness is expected to testify this morning.

Proceedings will begin at 9:30 am.
