Mobile clinics to be distributed to five districts in the province.
The MEC for Health and Wellness in Gauteng, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, will officially hand over sixteen mobile clinics to the five health districts in the province at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto today.
The mobile clinics will be allocated to the Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, Sedibeng, and West Rand district health services.
The Gauteng Department of Health says the mobile clinics will provide essential health services including TB, STI, and Diabetes screening, pregnancy testing, child immunisation, deworming, and HIV testing, among others.
Gauteng Department of Health spokesperson Motalatale Modiba says, “The mobile clinics were generously donated by the DG Murray Trust. These are the vehicles that were used by the ready team during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, they will be utilised now to extend healthcare services to various communities and they will play an important role in ensuring equitable access to primary healthcare services across the province.”
