New ANCYL leadership urged to prioritise jobs and skills

Some of the youth attending the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League national conference at the University of Limpopo have called on the newly-elected top six to prioritize job creation and skill development for the youth.

The top six positions were elected unopposed.

Collen Malatji has been re-elected as the president, with Fransico Dyantji elected as his deputy. Tsakani Shiviti was also elected as the Secretary-General.

Bernard Gcina, a member of the ANCYL, says the youth from rural areas should be empowered.

“I would like to say and convey this message to the leadership that has been elected that the most outcry that the young people are facing in the villages and every area its unemployment, and we would like the leadership to also reiterate the call to end the system that is against young people in making sure that they get employed and so that they get business skills to empower themselves,” says Gcina.
